Description

The White Dune of Plieņciemsprotects the village from the sea winds. This is not only a very old fishermen’s village, but it has also been a renowned resort. The landlords of the times of duchy of Kurzeme selected Plieņciems to be their resort grounds, but in year 1810, Elisabeth, the wife of Russian Tsar Alexander I stayed here for six weeks.
