Description

This part of the shore is one of the most popular and versatile bird-watching sites in Latvia. Birds are the richest place is at the mouth of Starpiņupe the Gulf of Riga and about 1 km of the north of it. Spring and autumn migration during the autumn and this is a great waders, gulls and ducks of various species of watching. 2007th here was a new bird species recorded in Latvian - desert Plover Charadrius leschenaultii.During the spring migration, the birds stay here for a relatively short period of time, therefore the best season for visiting the site is the second part of summer (end of July – August).
