Latvian Road Museum

Description

The Latvian Road Museum at Šlokenbeka Manor is one of the oldest road museums in Europe and the only one in Latvia dedicated to road construction and the development of the industry.

Why and how were the first roads built? What were the first road signs and what did ancient road construction tools look like? What is horsepower and what was the role of the horse in the history of roads and transport? You will find answers to these and other questions about roads in the museum's exhibitions.
