Description

The protected dendrology plantations “Dendrology plantations of Lāčupīte by Igors Mednis” were created as a particularly protected natural territory. The plantations (7.2 ha) were initiated in 1959 with the purpose to introduce foreign trees and bushes, to observe the interaction of brands with the local biotopes. Around 60 conifers and 350 leaf tree kinds are registered in the area. The most beautiful sights can be observed in May and June, when the rhododendrons are blooming.
