One of the all-time favourite Latvian films still is the series “Ilgais ceļš kāpās” (1981). It is the love story between the fisherman’s son Artūrs Banga and the daughter of a property landlord; the story takes place in 1930-ties throughout the Second World War and post-war years. Their life story is long and harsh, before they meet again in their homeland. One of the most romantic scenes in it is when Marta (Lilita Ozoliņa) and Artūrs (Juozas Kiselius) meet at the pharmacy. This scene was filmed in the former Tukums Pharmacy (7 Lielā Street), which now hosts the café “Miķelītis”.
